Health insurance is one of the most common types of insurance in the world, covering the policy holder in the event of hospital bills. A health insurance contract with IHI will give policy holders the freedom to choose among the best specialists and hospitals should they fall ill, without delay, 24 hours a day and regardless of where they are in the world.

 

Compared to those of other insurance products, sales of health insurance in Estonia remain modest. What Rossar sees as the main problem in its limited popularity is that employers must also take fringe benefit tax into account when covering the health insurance costs of their employees. “The government would do well to consider making health insurance for workers tax-free, because it would bring the costs down for the state’s Health Insurance Fund as well. They are tax-free in Latvia, for example, where the majority of employers make health insurance payments on behalf of their workers.”

 

IHI’s travel insurance will compensate the cost of first aid, medical treatment and hospitalisation incurred due to accidents or sudden illness abroad, or in the event of death, the cost of immediately returning the policy holder home. Any costs related to cancellations, delays or interruptions to travel, lost, damaged or stolen luggage and other circumstances agreed upon in the insurance contract will also be compensated. Policy holders can choose between one-off and year-long contracts.

 

IHI (International Health Insurance Danmark a/s), a subsidiary of Europe’s largest health insurance provider, BUPA (British United Provident Association), currently has 250,000 clients in more than 190 countries. IHI has been issued with an A credit rating by rating agency Standard & Poor’s.
